On May 22, 2026, we successfully held the Mayors’ Workshop and Youth Engagement Forum in Palo, Leyte, as part of our Eastern Visayas Caravan.
We were joined by our fellow Eastern Visayas mayors from the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG) for a workshop in which they shared best practices and initiatives to further institutionalize good governance within their respective Local Government Units (LGUs).
Furthermore, over 200 youth leaders joined us to help establish the Good Gov Generation of Region VIII. Miss Pintados 2025, Ms. Patricia Moreto, servant leader, Mr. Jerry Sambo Yaokasin, and M4GG Convenor, Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong, imparted their experiences and shared inspiring messages with the youth.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the LGU of Palo, Leyte, led by Mayor Matin Petilla, and to Carigara, Leyte Mayor Ed Ong for their invaluable assistance and support in making the Eastern Visayas Caravan a resounding success. We also express our sincere appreciation to the speakers and youth leaders who participated in the event.
In partnership with the TAYO Awards Foundation and the British Embassy Manila, we will continue our nationwide efforts to promote good governance and empower our local chief executives and the youth to lead the crusade toward a more progressive Philippines.
